About Us
Sandpiper is a private live-aboard vessel used for the enjoyment of family
and invited friends.
History
Until April 2008, Sandpiper was a charter vessel hosting small live-aboard dive trips around the New Zealand coastline. Being based in Picton at the top of the South Island, the majority of her trips were in the Cook Strait area, however, trips further afield, to Three Kings Inlands, Fiordland and Stewart Island were scheduled to meet demand.
Attractions in the Cook Strait area include the wrecks of the Lastingham, Rangitoto and Mikhail Lermontov.
Three months of the year ( April-May-June ) were spent chartering in Fiordland.
With almost 30 years diving experience this skipper knows the dive sites very well, having dived from the Three Kings Islands to Stewart Island.
